I am passionate about women’s health and we all aim to provide the best possible personal care for patients at Maiden Health.

I’m experienced, confident and very capable. I also enjoy working with a team and have surrounded myself with quality people to support my care for you.

I understand the importance of communication with you and your loved ones throughout the journey of pregnancy, delivery and beyond and I am dedicated to caring for the health and well-being of women at any age.

When I am not looking after patients, I am a mother to 3 children, enjoy a good book and training for Triathlons.

Dr Jill Cox

Obstetrician and Gynaecologist

I feel so privileged to be able to care for women as a dedicated Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, and to work alongside a fabulous group of colleagues in providing evidence based, compassionate women’s healthcare.

As a mum of three myself, I understand all too well the highs and lows of pregnancy. I can offer care to women with straight-forward or complex pregnancies, and everything in between. Nothing excites me more than being able to share your whole pregnancy journey with you, including supporting you through any challenges that may present.

I enjoy being able to offer gynaecology consults for all conditions, though I do have a particular interest in colposcopy, menstrual dysfunction and pelvic pain. I understand that divulging information about women’s health can feel confronting, and I’m here to make you feel as comfortable as possible. I’ll communicate openly and honestly, and provide you with the latest evidence and advice to help manage your concerns.

When I’m not at work, I’m a busy mum of three, and love going to the beach, reading a good book and planning my next travel adventure.

Dr Ajita Basu

Obstetrician and Gynaecologist

I love providing woman-centered care and feel fortunate to be able to provide care for all your obstetric and gynaecological needs.

Pregnancy is an incredibly transformative time in a woman’s life and I understand the physical and emotional aspects of this time can be equally exciting and overwhelming. I am dedicated to being a part of this journey with you and will ensure you and your family feel safe, respected and well informed in a nurturing environment through your pregnancy, delivery and post natally.

I am also trained to provide pre-conception counselling and gynaecological consultations. I have a particular interest and expertise to help with abnormal cervical screening tests, menstrual disorders, polycystic ovarian syndrome, endometriosis and pelvic pain. I pride myself on providing personalised, comprehensive care and will work with you to create a treatment plan that is tailored to your needs.

I have spent most of my life in Brisbane and completed my medical training throughout some of the largest hospitals in Queensland. I am also bi-lingual and am fluent in English and Bengali.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy adventures with my husband and fur-baby, reading a good book at the beach and travelling.

Midwife Jacinta Page

Throughout your pregnancy journey, you will have the opportunity to see our nurturing and experienced Midwife, Jacinta for your antenatal and postnatal care. You will have the option to see Jacinta in our rooms, or have her come to your home for a visit 1-2 weeks following the birth of your baby. We feel that establishing a relationship with a midwife, as well as your obstetrician, provides a wonderful integrated experience that greatly benefits many women.

As a registered midwife and nurse, I love being a part of a woman's journey to motherhood. I strive to achieve optimal health outcomes for mothers and babies, and will help families adjust to life with a new born.

I have enjoyed working at Mater Mother's Hospital for many years, and will help women prepare for and know what to expect throughout their pregnancy, birth and beyond. From physical and mental health check-ins and getting to know baby's movements, to birth plans and preparing for labour and breastfeeding, I am here to listen to your wishes, educate, inform and help put your mind at ease.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy working out in the great outdoors, travel and spending time with my puppy.

Physio Marnie Poiner

Marnie is our fabulous physiotherapist with a special interest in treating women’s health conditions and an important part of our team.

I am down to earth and friendly and I find great satisfaction in helping women of all walks of life achieve their goals and improve their quality of life. I have expertise in managing pregnant women antenatally and postnatally as well as specialist training in pelvic floor disorders including prolapse, incontinence and pelvic pain.

I am a keen exerciser and love to travel when the world permits it! I am also currently studying a Master’s in Medicine (Sexual Health).

Obstetrics

The birth of a baby is amazing and every mother and child are unique and we all feel genuinely excited to be part of your experience. We believe in open communication and using the best evidence to guide decisions made with you for your care. Dr Harris is cool under pressure, warm and energetic and provides both low and high risk care.

We understand the importance of the journey to motherhood for every woman and are here to care for both you and your baby.

Gynaecology

We enjoy solving problems and aim to work with you to find solutions to gynaecological issues. Our Doctors provide general gynaecological services and offer the full range of gynaecological surgical procedures, including laparoscopy and vaginal surgery. Both of our Doctors are certified colposcopists for managing abnormal smears and have an interest in adolescent gynaecology and menstrual disorders at all ages.

Fertility

The journey to parenthood is not always an easy one and we are here to help you achieve the family your desire. Communication, warmth and support underpin our clinical practice which is focused on tailoring care uniquely to you. We provide fertility services, including IVF through Genea - World Leading Fertitilty.

Our Doctors deliver at Mater Mother's Private Hospital and operate at the Mater Adult Hospital, Spring Hill Day Hospital and St Andrews Private Hospital.
